Is This Baker's Jack Abramoff Moment?

Baker's Blue Ribbon Foundation Gives Wyoming Valley Health Care System (WVHCS) $200,000 in 2003

WVHCS Executives Give Baker for Senate $2000 in Campaign Contributions in 2005

(20thsenatorial Exclusive)

20thsenatorial has discovered what may be Lisa Baker's Jack Abramoff moment. The Times Leader reported today that "the biggest recipient" in 2003 of Blue Ribbon Foundation funds "was Wyoming Valley Health Care System, which received $200,000..." This amount represents nearly one quarter of all monies disbursed by the Blue Ribbon Foundation in 2003.

On November 29, 2005 and December 15, 2005, WVHCS said "thank you" in the form of two $1000 campaign contributions from Dr. William Host and James P. Carmody. Dr. Host is the President and CEO of WVHCS. Carmody is the Vice President of Human Resources for WVHCS.

Comments:
Is that sulfur I smell? I think someone just found the smoking gun.

I think Norton found out what Bigus has been trying to tell us all along ---- Lisa Baker is a puppet for the elites. Where's your response Brian, Is "political payoff" just a euphemism for "business as usual" in the Baker camp.

As a member of the WVHCS I can tell you that I support this, what's so wrong?

Yeah, what's wrong with a little kick back. It's what makes Harrisburg work. Lisa knows this from all her years there. There's no substitute for Harrisburg experience. Madeira or Bigus wouldn't know the first thing about "a wink and a nod." We should all stand strong as steel behind a Harrisburg insider like Lisa Baker.

I saw Bigus wink at Lisa.

Harry Forbes is a clownfart.

No thanks, I'll stick with integrity and consitency, doing whats right for the people, not the political process.

That's what Madeira has to offer, and thats why he get's my support!

Come on graft, cronyism, doing what the political bosses tell you to do, that's what we need in a senator. Don't think Gary is going to be satisfied with his current state job. He needs Lisa to get elected Senator so he can become head of the lottery commission or something like that. You don't think Madeira's gonna hand out jobs to family members like that.

Madeira's not so clean. That guy is swimming in money from Chiropractors.

Stop picking on poor Lisa. She is just doing what Pat Solano and all his cronies are telling her to do. It's kind of sad no matter what happens she's screwed. If she wins, she has no voice of her own EVER and if she loses they will have no reason to create another stepping stone foundation for her.

political payoffs?

Norton, did you head over the big bridge yet to get a copy of JimBob's campaign finance report?

Would love to see how many trial lawyers have said "thank you"

Norton, I think your on to something. A quick search of Dr. and the late Mrs. Host's donations to candidates in the last two election cycles are really telling. Every one of the candidates except Dr. Melissa Brown (at least she was a Republican) has won their race!

Follow the money...

It's one thing to say thank you, it's quite another to say what they are saying about Haggerty...

They say he will bolster "...strong Democratic support and a razor-thin margin of moderate Republicans in the Senate..."
(*Committee for Justice for All )

That's just what we need...another moderate republican in the senate..

I'll stick with a true conservative any day.

Ivan, (or should I say Brian) Good thing Lisa declared when she did, looks like Host almsot ran out of that money she gave him back in 2003. Maybe he should contact Cindy Yevich at BRF for more money.

hey 4 madeira "conservative is just another word for nothing left to lose."

I have always been a huge fan of Hillary Clinton that is why I am supporting Lisa. She is the closest thing we have to Hillary and that is what we need. If my teenage daughter should get in trouble and get pregnant before she is ready for it, I want someone representing us that will make sure she will be able to have an abortion and if my son falls in love with another man I want someone representing us that is not opposed to gay marriage. I back Lisa because like me she believes that government should not make personal decisions for people.

I heard her make that remark at a debate and that is exactly why I am not voting for her.

As time passes and stories unravel....Bigus is looking more and more like the one to vote for....he's been calling everything all along. Madeira hasn't done anything but talk about what happened in 1687

How can Madeira claim to be the only real conservative when his ideas fringe on radical? Not too many conservatives think that way.

To anonymous 8:38. I think you're commenting in the wrong post.

This post is about Lisa Baker getting cash kick backs from people she gave premium money to when she was with Blue Cross.

None of you stupid bastards understand the meaning of a true conservative. Please go give Howard Dean a call and go to kooksville where you elitist moderate mis-fits belong. It's called democrat!

bigus is the man! nasty as shit and couldn't tell you the truth about what day it is. we need to hear more from this self absorbed idiot who sleeps with his gun.

Hey Dr. Rick, did 'Reverend Rusty' tell you to say that by telling you not to show up for work tomorrow if you don't?

Elmer Fudd Endorses Candidate

Elmer Fudd, the "World's Biggest Sportsman", has made his choice for this year's 20th senatorial race. "I first wooked at Wussell Bigus. Then I wooked at David Madierwa. But my choice is Weesa Baka. Her husband Gawy is an avid hunter and is a member of The National Wabbit Federation."

"Carwool Sutton and Jim Haggowty are wascally and are not members of this federation."

oh yes, our dearly beloved pike county leader harry forbes who's one finger is in the air and the other up his ass. harry remember yellow in the front and brown in the back

Again...Bigus has been right on all of the issues from the beginning...so much that the others are following his lead now because they realize they are all screwed!
Bigus's biggest selling point: He is a "real" person....not in this for the money and so he can do favors for his connections...unlike Baker the puppet, Haggerty the lawyer and epitome of a "politician"....the other two aren't even in the race whatsoever, so I won't even address them.

I see your point. Gosh oh gee Bigus sure am smart. What issue is Bigus right on? I never heard him speak about anything but himself.

Bigus will take the Back Mountain...Everybody who knows Russ knows that he is the winner...The others won't stand a chance. They're jealous...Bigus is a "real person". He's not a phoney baloney, mamby pamby.

Bigus' instincts have been right on this Blue Cross thing from the start, but he's only been asking questions, in newspaper ads. Norton has just given him the answers.

This WVHCS stuff borders on criminal to me, but who's gonna find out about it? Traditional media won't pick this stuff up off some blog, but they will listen to a press release from a candidate.

Bigus says he wants an investigation into Blue Cross... well, you know that ain't happening if Sen. Baker gets to call the shots.

Russ, the clock is ticking. It is time to sound the clarion call.

Whoever takes this a step farther will win. You need to get the press release out ASAP. The facts are there, go for it.

Russ get on TV.

How does Bigus find all this time to campaign? Did they hire a substitute principal at Regis to help in his efforts?

What most of you are forgetting is that Blue Cross subscribers make up only a small percentage of the voters in the district. And most of the voters who don't have BC wish they did.

But if it makes you feel better and you can't find anything else to whine about this week, carry on.

substitute principal? Probably pulled someone off the street. Is it true you don't need any certifications to be principal there?

Frannie, because Blue Cross is a not-for-profit organization, and therefore TAX-EXEMPT, this is an issue for ALL voters, not just subscribers.

But, what you don't know won't can't hurt you, and that was Baker's strategy all along.

miss saunders - not-for-profit and non-profit are two very different concepts. Didn't they teach that at Georgetown?

The Georgetown comment almost made me forget that Blue Cross is a tax exempt organization

Mr. Educator Bigus was at a debate last Monday in South Gibson. As he pandered to the audience about his vast knowledge of ethanol (which is about on par with Carl Sutton's) he eluded to the fact that the Brazilians now speak Spanish. Take that you illiterate Portuguese!
